The Breakpoint campaign has at its base a solid premise, but the execution is lackluster. Not to mention that all you do in this open world is fight groups of enemies which gets extremely repetitive very fast. It gets worse; even if you crank the difficulty to the maximum, the enemies can still be pretty blind and don’t use real tactics. Also, from time to time there are helicopters or drones that fly over and you need to hide. Whoever came up with that idea, deserves “a raise” all the way to the unemployment office. It could work in a different context, but as it stands, it’s just busy work that doesn’t add anything.
The multiplayer is much better and is the strong leg of the game. There is a real niche for tactical shooters and there are things I like about it even if I don’t prefer the 3rd person view. But there are some serious problems as well, besides bugs. For example, my loadout is very dependent on my character progress, and here I include cosmetics that I could benefit from, like camouflage.
The game looks pretty, especially with HDR (don’t know why the print screen I made was so grayed out) but there is a real issue seeing inside/outside the buildings as the luminosity gets extremely bright (from inside to outside) and dark (from outside to inside).
A lot of problems are due to microtransactions being implemented in a harmful way, rotting the game to its core.
