Overview:

New To Hearthstone?

Sheathe your sword, draw your deck, and get ready for Hearthstone - the fast-paced strategy card game that's easy to learn and massively fun. Start a free game and play your cards to sling spells, summon creatures, and command the heroes of Warcraft in duels of epic strategy.

With an assortment of prebuilt starter decks and hundreds of additional cards to win, craft, or purchase, your collection never stops evolving.

Play your way: Find your perfect match in casual, ranked, and arena games, participate in crazy Tavern Brawls, or practice against devious AI opponents and hone your skills in Hearthstone’s adventure mode.

Hearthstone streamlined the formula of Magic: The Gathering and made it accessible to everybody. Now there is no complicated and annoying mana system. Each round gives you an additional mana, at your disposal. The card abilities are much more basic and you can’t interrupt a turn. Games are pretty fast, usually under 10 minutes, but there is still plenty of RNG. Hearthstone’s apparent simplicity can be deceitful, there is plenty of room for how a turn can possibly go.

You have both casual and ranked for constructed play. There is Arena for draft but it has an entry fee which you can pay with in game currency as well as real money. In Tavern Brawl you can play with different cards and/or rules each week. And finally, there are solo adventures, where you can play free or payed adventures, including puzzles (my personal favorite).

While there is plenty to do, the Free2Play model is not that friendly and buying a full collection can be *very* expensive. And it can get truly insane if you want your collection to be premium (having golden cards, i.e. the animated ones).  The problem might be even worse, because only new expansions are allowed into (constructed) ranked play, so you either have to keep paying or playing a lot.

The game has nice aesthetics and very good sound tracks. It is fun to play and sucks you in by many ways and with many things.

Rating: Warning - Wallet or time will suffer greatly!
